Pre-production
The band is in the middle of pre-production. There are demos of 8-9 new songs tracked so far, all sounding fairly raw yet soon ready to be taken into the studio. The album will be recorded during 2013 in a yet unnamed studio(s). More news to follow...

Callisto to play Norway´s SÅ 2012 Festival
Callisto have been confirmed to play SÅ 2012 Festival near Oslo, Norway, during the last weekend of July 2012. This will be the first show anywhere for Callisto since the massive 10 Year Retrospective in March 2011 and probably the one and only show the band will play in 2012. So Norway, come and greet after many many years...we are looking forward to finally come back.

Noir vinyl release date set - unreleased bonus track included
Noir - originally released in 2006 - will be released on double vinyl on the 23rd of May 2012 by Svart Records. The luxurious set will be limited to 300 copies on black wax and 200 on silver vinyl.
The vinyl version also features the track "Coming Aeons", which the band often played live at the time and recorded a demo version of, but decided to abandon eventually.
Pre-order will be launched at Svart Records shop on Monday 23th of April.

CALLISTO 10 YEARS - RETROSPECTIVE AT TURUN KLUBI, 5TH OF MARCH 2011

Highly esteemed in alternative rock and metal scene, Callisto will play a retrospective show at Klubi, Turku on March 5 to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Armed with special guest appearances, Callisto's set will be an extensive cross-section of the band's releases all the way from early 00s to today. In celebration of the event, there will also be some new merchandise available.
Founded in Kokkola in 2001, Callisto have released three full-lengths. Their latest album "Providence" was put out in 2009. Over the years, the band have gigged in Finland and the rest of Europe on a regular basis and also toured in North America. Currently, Callisto are working on material for their upcoming fourth album.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Callisto have invited some special guests to the event. Norwegian metal band Benea Reach, whose previous formation Selfmindead had a significant influence on Callisto's beginnings, will arrive at Klubi for their first ever Finnish show. The evening will be opened by Helsinki-based KOLT that also include members and friends significant to Callisto's life cycle.

Back on track
Callistochaos.com was offline for nearly two weeks - technical issues. Now we´re back online! Our apologies for the downtime.
Meanwhile, the band has been recovering from August´s festival rush and slowly starting the writing process of 4th studio album. However, new selected shows and tours, such as a special 10-year anniversary event, are in plans for 2011. We will keep you updated on everything.

Summer Breeze Festival
After playing last December´s Roarfest in Nuremberg, Callisto now returns to Germany and Summer Breeze Open Air Festival in Dinkelsbuehl, Bavaria. Showtime is Saturday 21st of August, 4:50 pm at the Party Stage. See you there.
Also big thanks to everyone at Czech Republic´s famous Brutal Assault Festival. It was one of the biggest audiences and most memorable festival performances the band has been privileged to do.

Callisto forced to cancel shows in Turku and Helsinki
Due to sickness, unfortunately we are forced to cancel the show in Turku on 27th of May and the show in Helsinki on 28th of May. The Ocean & Ef are doing their shows as planned. We are truly sorry but there was no other option. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in Tampere. We hope the best for The Ocean & Ef for these two remaining shows in Finland.

For years we have been in talks with The Ocean, in order to share the stage - now it is finally happening. The last time we played with EF was in 2004, so it was about the time to team up with them, as well. The dates and venues are:>> May 26th Klubi, Tampere

Shows in Greece
Callisto will be performing live at Rodeo Live Club, Athens, Greece on 22nd of November 2009. Another Greek date is still to be announced, so stay tuned.
For the band this is the first time in beautiful Greece. The visit is special because it was already postponed twice this year, thus the band is looking forward to this visit even more. See you in Athens!

Ruisrock showtime 6:30 pm.
On 3rd of July 2009 Callisto is playing at the mighty Ruisrock festival in Turku. The showtime at the Converse stage is 6:30 pm, thus all the spectators are adviced to arrive early. You can also see Neurosis, Slipknot, Children of Bodom etc. on the very same day.

Athens show cancelled
The year of misfortune continues. Recently we were informed that the show in Athens, Greece, on 13th of September 2009, has been cancelled due to unexpected production issues in Greece.
This is totally beyond us, so we have no other choice than once again express our deepest apologies for everyone who was waiting for us in Greece. This is unfortunate because the show was already postponed once. We sincerely hope we can make this up for everyone as soon as possible, although we had no part in this cancellation.

EUROPEAN TOUR CANCELLED DUE TO ACUTE SURGERY
We are sad to let you know that we are unfortunately forced to cancel all the shows in Europe between 1.-15.5.2009.
The vocalist Jani Ala-Hukkala has been acutely operated in the hospital, due to seriously infected cecum appendix. The situation is not critical but he is under strong medication and constant control.
Now it is obvious that Jani will not be able to work at least for the upcoming 3 weeks. His elevated CRP requires close monitoring and running more tests over the weekend. At this point we can only hope he will eventually get better and experience full recovery.
We feel very bad for all the promoters & friends who have done a lot of work for this tour, not forgetting all the people who were coming to see us live and will now be disappointed because of this. The feeling is mutual but at the moment our main concern and greatest interest is Jani's recovery.
We hope that this doesn't mean that all hard work goes to waste but wish that we could reschedule the tour in the future with better luck. Our deepest apologies for all. Some things are beyond control and we simply have no other choice.

Today´s show in Hämeenlinna cancelled!
Due to even more unexpected health incidents the band is forced to cancel today´s show at Suistoklubi, Hämeenlinna. Without vocals and the second guitar it is impossible to play, so there will be attempts to find a new date for this show. We apologize this unfortunate situation. Temporary changes in the lineup.
Due to unexpected health issues and conditions in personal schedules the band will perform the shows in Lahti and Hämeenlinna (24th and 25th of April) with only 5 members, missing one of the guitars and having a session musician in the bass guitar.
The lineup will get back to normal as the band launches the Providence European tour on 1st of May in Nijmegen, Holland. Thank you for everyone who showed up at Tavastia, Helsinki last night.

The vinyl has arrived.
A 12" gatefold LP of the new album Providence is now out on Svart Records. You can order the grandeur from the Svart Records webstore for 16 euros + shipping. They ship worldwide.

The new album Providence has climbed up to the 23rd spot on the Finnish top 40 album chart on its first release week. Being the first official chart position for Callisto, this week is a milestone of its kind in the Callisto timeline. Thank you for all who have (and will) buy the album.
